Pretty good pizza and fairly cheap prices. I suppose the charm of this place for me is I've been going there for at least the last 15 years where I loved playing the outdated video games. If you like the town of Eagle River I do think you will enjoy Alexanders. It has the small town/Northwoods feel and that will always count for me. I regret everytime I went up to ER and DIDN'T make it by there. It was just part of the experience.

The pizza here is pretty good - thin crust cut into bite-sized pieces (no triangular slices of pizza here). The kids seem to like the place because of the pool table and the very casual setting. While we go here for the pizza, this is not the perfect pizza parlor. The drinks (soda and beer) are unusually small (8 or 10 oz glasses). And the women in our party complain about the women's restroom, which features saloon-style doors on the stalls that are mounted too high to provide any privacy when one is seated to do one's business. The service provided by the young counter staff service is indifferent at best, and on a recent visit the owner was arguing somewhat loudly with a complaining customer over some issue saying "this is the way we've done it for 35 years..." Note: as of this writing the iPhone Yelp application's "Directions to the Business" feature sends you to the wrong location - somewhere near the hospital - whereas the restaurant is actually in downtown Eagle River. I'll report the error.

So many problems came up during our dinner experience. If we could go negative in stars, we would. Pizza wasn't good. Actually decided to leave without finishing. Service was poor.

Honestly, their Pizza sucks. When I walked in at first I thought the place was dirty and nasty including the wait staff. After I got the Pizza I was not impressed at all. First they charge almost $3.00 for each extra topping. I am not talking if you have half sausage and half peperoni it is 1 topping. Nope....half topping is 1 topping. So the pizza for my wife and I was almost $30. For $30 this better be something special. The Pizza was bland and the toppings just lacked. I love small little pizza places all over the country and Alexanders might be one of the worst I have been to. If in the area and want pizza I would recommend Sweet Water, Sprags, or even Pizza Hut over Alexanders.

Regarding Pete T's 5 star review I have this comment: I lived in California for 4 years and my big question is "What the hell would anyone from CA know about pizza?" When I was there "Shakey's" was the only pizzeria. Calif. just ain't pizza. Taco's yes. Pizza no. Must be his brother-in-law or something. Bottom line. If this were the only pizza joint around to get pizza, I would get a frozen one from the store and doctor it.

Every year at least 20 of us come up to Eagle River for a pond hockey tournament, and every single year we make it a point to come up to Alexander's! We come for the atmosphere, the owner, and of course their pizza! Might I recommend the bacon and pepperoni pizza :) The owner is extremely friendly and old fashioned, making you feel at home! The atmosphere is very laid back and homey, and this is the most quaint pizza place I've been to.... And I'm from Chicago, so I loooove my pizza joints! We will always make it a point to return every year!!

Overpriced. The restaurant itself is quite dated and while clean the restrooms are in need of repair and certainly lack privacy. There are a ton of signs around the place telling you what...or mainly what not to do. The owner (I'm think he was anyways) was kind of rude to the single staff member that was working and he wasn't much better to the customers. If it was his sense of humor it wasn't very appropriate. The pizza itself was very fresh (should be as we were the only ones there and it took about a half hour) but that's about the only thing that was impressive. Very bland and nothing special. We won't be back.

They are very rude here! We walked in and up to the change machine. Owner comes up and says, "If you want to play games, you have to order food." He wasn't nice about it. We turned and walked out.

Had our family reunion there last night with about 20 people. The service was excellent - owner and friends were super friendly - and the pizza was delicious!! We've been going here for over 20 years - my brothers and I used to go there when we were kids and now we're bringing our kids. It really hasn't changed and that's the way we like it!

Restaurant was clean open area to hang out / socialize. Pizza was great, I'm from Chicago and I thought it was in comparison with Chicagos! I give this place a great review and highly recommend!

This is a very fun family place for pizza with a secret. Brian, the owner, has been making the very best pizza in the Northwoods for a long time! All his ingredients are of the highest quality and he makes his own pizza sauce from the best tomatoes. I happen to make my own pizza from scratch and can attest to the quality and taste of his pies. I'm a frequent visitor to his restaurant when I'm in town and his sausage pizza is my favorite. When last there this early June he mentioned that he had just received a shipment of Vidalia onions and suggested this as one of the toppings. The pizza was outstanding! The crust is very thin and his pizza sauce is a rich tomato taste with a good blend of herb and slight garlic flavor. They also use an excellent mozerella cheese. Dining here is very informal with booths and picnic tables. There are lots of video games and pool tables for the kids and parties. And, they keep the restaurant very clean throughout. You'll get a kick out of the sign where you order your pizza (they have great sandwiches too) - "Beware the Pizza Nazi!" The owner has a fun sense of humor and is a very friendly person.

Basics: good pizza, bad service. Best bet is to order over phone for pick up to eat elsewhere. I tried to walk in and only had my credit card. This place only takes cash... Lame. I asked if I could place my order and walk next door to the ATM. No was the answer. WTF my wife called from the car and they took an order over the phone. Pizza is pretty good for northwoods standards. Good snack type pizza, not a meal pizza.
